Casa Shalva is a six-bedroom house in Aldea Zama, the master-planned side of Tulum, built around a rooftop plunge pool. The bed mix is what makes sixteen guests work without anyone sleeping in a living room: one bedroom with two kings, one with two queens, three more kings, and a bunk room. Six bathrooms serve the six bedrooms. The palette is deep tones and organic textures rather than white minimalism, and the ground floor runs between kitchen, dining and lounge instead of being cut into separate rooms. Aldea Zama is the walkable part of Tulum and the distances bear that out. Jungle Gym is eight minutes on foot and Gitano twelve, while the beach is a five-minute drive rather than a walk. Daily cleaning is part of the stay, room service is available on request, and arrival is self check-in. | Location: Tulum, Mexico | Bedrooms: 6 | Guests: 16 | Price: From $1,450 USD per night | Top Amenities: Fully-equipped kitchen, Air conditioning, Parking | Best For: Group retreats, Multi-family trips, Milestone birthdays and reunions
Casa Shalva is the rare Tulum group house where the location does half the work. Aldea Zama is master-planned and walkable, so a six-bedroom house here is not a house that traps its guests indoors between taxi rides. The rooftop is the social anchor, with a plunge pool and a grill under open sky. Below it, the living areas run into one another with no doors between kitchen, dining and lounge, which suits a group of sixteen that would rather cook and eat together than find a restaurant willing to seat sixteen at short notice.
Aldea Zama, Walkable
Aldea Zama is master-planned, and the difference that makes is that some things here are genuinely on foot. Jungle Gym is six hundred metres away, about eight minutes walking. Gitano is 1.2 kilometres, about twelve minutes on foot. That is where the walking stops. The beach is 2.5 kilometres out, a five-minute drive rather than a walk. Cenote Dos Ojos is twenty-five minutes by car and Cancun airport is ninety minutes north. Parking is on site and security covers the property. Jungle Gym Tulum 0.6 km, about 8 minutes on foot. Gitano 1.2 km, about 12 minutes on foot. Tulum Beach 2.5 km, about 5 minutes by car. Cenote Dos Ojos 18 km, about 25 minutes by car. Cancun Airport 130 km, about 90 minutes. On-site parking and property security
Six Rooms, Sixteen Places
The bed layout is the detail worth reading before booking. One bedroom holds two king beds, another holds two queens, three bedrooms hold a single king each, and the sixth is a bunk room. That is how the house reaches sixteen, and it means two of the rooms are shared-occupancy by design and one is bunks rather than a double. Six bathrooms serve the six bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped, the living areas open into one another, and a projector covers film nights. Air conditioning runs through the house and there is a washer and dryer on site for a longer stay. Six bedrooms and six bathrooms. One bedroom with two kings, one with two queens. Three bedrooms with a single king each. A sixth bedroom set up as a bunk room. Fully equipped kitchen and open-plan living space. Projector for film nights. Air conditioning, washer and dryer. Self check-in
The Rooftop
The roof is where this house spends its evenings. A plunge pool, room to lie out, and a grill so dinner can happen upstairs rather than down, looking over the jungle canopy. A plunge pool is for cooling off rather than swimming lengths, which is worth settling with a group of sixteen before arrival rather than on the first afternoon. Downstairs, the open-plan living space carries the daytime with shade and quiet away from the roof, and the grill and the kitchen between them mean most meals can be handled in-house. Rooftop plunge pool. Grill on the rooftop terrace. Open-air roof terrace over the jungle canopy. Open-plan ground-floor living space for shade. Air conditioning throughout the house
Walk, Ride, Cenote
The shape of a stay here is set by the neighbourhood. Breakfast on the roof, a walk to Jungle Gym at eight minutes, and dinner at Gitano twelve minutes on foot, which is the rare Tulum arrangement where nobody is arranging a taxi at midnight. The beach is a five-minute drive rather than a walk, which puts a beach day on a different footing from dinner. Cenote Dos Ojos is twenty-five minutes out. Back at the house, the projector handles film nights and the roof grill handles the rest. Events for up to twenty-five guests are allowed with approval, with music ending at ten. Jungle Gym and Gitano both reachable on foot. Tulum Beach about 5 minutes by car. Cenote Dos Ojos about 25 minutes by car. Film nights on the projector. Grilling on the rooftop. Events up to 25 guests with prior approval: birthday, reunion, corporate. Music must end at 10 PM, quiet hours 10 PM to 8 AM
Cleaning And Room Service
The service here is light and practical. Daily cleaning is included, which across a week with sixteen guests is the part that actually matters, and room service is available on request. Check-in is self-service, and early check-in can be arranged. Checkout is at eleven, with a late option until two in the afternoon for an additional fee. Security covers the property and parking is on site. Our concierge team can arrange transport and cenote tours before arrival rather than leaving it to the morning, which is the difference between reaching Dos Ojos early and queueing behind the tour vans. Daily cleaning included. Room service available on request. Self check-in, with early check-in on request. Checkout 11:00, late checkout to 14:00 available for a fee. Property security and on-site parking. Fully equipped kitchen and a rooftop grill for self-catering. Two-night minimum stay
