El Gaston is a seven-bedroom Roman-inspired castle in Region 15, a gated jungle community on the inland side of Tulum. Every one of the seven bedrooms is en-suite, six with king beds and one with a queen, and the king in bedroom seven is a round bed with its own hot tub. The house is theatrical by design: a speakeasy bar with a performance stage and theatre balconies above it, an underground aquarium space, an indoor cinema, a library room, a poker lounge, a chandelier lounge, and a cenote-style pool with a waterfall and a stage set into it. Region 15 is one of the gated jungle communities on the inland side of Tulum, away from the beach road and its traffic. The practical effect is quiet, controlled access and security on the property around the clock. Nothing here is walkable. Tulum Pueblo is seven minutes by car and the beach zone ten, with Cenote Calavera about twelve minutes and Gran Cenote fifteen. The Tulum ruins are fifteen minutes up the coast road. Cancun airport sits ninety minutes north, which is the standard arrival for this side of the peninsula, so transport is something to arrange in advance rather than assume. Nights The House Runs

The programme mostly stays on site. Music on the bar stage with the group watching from the theatre balconies, poker running late in the lounge, a film in the cinema when the heat peaks, and dinner under the chandelier. Events are permitted with prior approval for up to twenty-five guests, covering birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor and bachelorette weekends and photo shoots, with music finishing at eleven and quiet hours from then until eight in the morning. Off site, the cenotes are twelve to fifteen minutes by car, the ruins fifteen, and the beach zone ten. Live sets on the speakeasy stage, with balcony seating above. Films in the indoor cinema.
