Amelkis olive groves

Amelkis is a gated residential resort set among olive groves on the southern edge of Marrakech. The road in passes the clubhouse and the practice greens before it reaches the residential streets, and Villa Aurea sits on a quiet lane with garden walls on both sides. The Medina is twelve kilometers out, twenty-five minutes by car, and Menara airport is twenty minutes. Inside the gates the noise drops to birdsong and the occasional golf cart. The golf club is a two minute drive, close enough that a round does not eat a morning in travel. The rest of the week tends to divide between the house and the city: the Medina and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum are twenty to twenty-five minutes, and a table at Amanjena is five. Back at the villa, the fitness room and the wellness area cover the hours when it is too hot to be outside.
