Villa Serena is contemporary and entirely single-level, which in Los Cabos is rare: most of the ocean-view houses here are stacked down a hillside. Five bedrooms, five and a half baths, all on one floor, all facing the water, wrapped around a pool terrace. There are no stairs in the building. A daily butler and daily housekeeping come with the house, and the Blue Sea gate sits on the Tourist Corridor, the stretch of coast between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo where most of the region's best beaches and golf are.

The Tourist Corridor

Blue Sea is a gated community on the corridor, the coastal stretch that links the two Cabos and holds most of the area's resorts, golf courses and swimmable beaches. The trade is simple: you are not in a town, so nothing is walkable, but you are close to everything by car and away from the noise of both. Chileno Bay, about 8 minutes, is the calm snorkelling beach, and Santa Maria at about 10 minutes is swimmable as well. Cabo del Sol golf is 7 minutes. The pool sits on a terrace with an unobstructed ocean outlook, and because the house is single-level and wraps the terrace, every room opens onto the same outdoor space rather than looking down on it from a balcony. The dining table is out here too, not squeezed onto a balcony. There is no private beach here: the villa is an ocean-view house on the corridor, and the sand is a short drive away at Chileno or Santa Maria. Golf is closer than it would be from either town, with Cabo del Sol 7 minutes away. Whale watching runs in season and the concierge books it. Dinner splits between the corridor restaurants, San Jose del Cabo 15 minutes east with its art district, and Cabo San Lucas 20 minutes west for the marina. Flora Farms, 18 minutes, is the long lunch.
